        I can only translate material I understand fully. That means I only take on tasks for which I have the necessary knowledge and skills. The following gives an indication where these lie.

My university studies and my first career in research and R&D projects equipped me with a knowledge base that I can now use for translation tasks in the following specialist areas:

   * biosciences
   * biotechnology
   * environment
   * medicine / health
   * psychology
   * market research

While working on research projects I also gained experience in project planning and management and in the preparation of project reports / deliverables, articles for professional and academic journals and general information material.

I adhere to the guidelines provided by DIN 2345, the German standard on carrying out translation work. When preparing English-language material for informative purposes I take account of the guidelines of the Plain English Campaign for clear and comprehensible writing.
